What's New At Sew Inspired

Sarah Jane Studios has released Sommer for Michael Miller Fabrics, a soft and sweet collection inspired by Sarah Jane's Scandinavian heritage, and her love of landscape and color. The sweet prints are perfect for quilts, children's clothing, and everything in between! Our favorite bolt is definitely the double border panel that features children playing with the skyline of Stockholm in the distance.

Come Dive With Me, by Whistler Studios for Windham Fabrics, is an underwater themed collection that's perfect for the aquatic adventurer in your life. Deep-sea divers, submarines and friendly jellyfish make these prints great for playful quilts and pillowcases.

Connector Playmats is an innovative and fun collection by Deborah Edwards for Northcott Studio. We have the At the Airport and At the Train Station themes in store, and they can be used alone or in combination. The playmats and borders make great lap or play quilts... The possibilities are endless!

The Grace Collection from Kona Bay features lush watercolor blossoms, their petals a swirl of tonal hues, blooming in vibrant glory. The watercolor technique adds a grace to this collection that has a wonderful artistic essence.

Autumn has arrived! Well, the fabric at least! We've just received bolts of Autumn Song, a collection by artist Sandy Lyman Clough for Red Rooster Fabrics. The collection celebrates the harvest season with a beautifully painted panel and size coordinates in rich fall colors, highlighted with touches of gold metallic.

This collection is a great choice for brightening up your home, and we have kitted up a wall hanging and table runner, pattern included.

If sunflowers are more your style, Welcome Harvest by Color Principle for Henry Glass Fabrics would be a lovely way to add gorgeous color to your home this fall. We have several bolts of this collection that features sunflowers, pumpkins, beautiful autumn foliage, and a several blenders. We also have kits made up for a wall hanging, and a quilt, pattern included.

What's New At Sew Inspired

We have the beautiful Mumseed Meadow collection by Rae Ritchie for Dear Stella in the shop! This fabric line captures the organic movement of lush prairies and secret woodlands, and takes you on a winding nature walk through the dancing trees, collecting bouquets and fallen leaves along the way.

ME + YOU have released a lovely collection of Ikat Wovens with Hoffman Fabrics in a range of indigo, black, cream and green. These wovens would be perfect for both quilts and clothing, and even bags! 

Jennifer Sampou has a new line of Studio Stash Yarn Dyes for Robert Kaufman. They have a lovely hand and give a great tone-on-tone texture to any quilt! We have several bolts of Yarn Dyes as well as pre-cuts (Ten-Square, 10" squares) in both the Warm and Cool story colorways.

The Mendocino collection was inspired Heather Ross's time in Northern California, and due to popular demand, Windham Fabrics has reprinted the entire line with a slight tweak and update to the colors. The beautiful collection is a favorite of sewists who love mermaids, seahorses and the sea.

Tula Pink has done it again! Her newest collection, Chipper for Free Spirit Fabrics, features adorable creatures like chipmunks and foxes, in rich hues of pinks, purples, greens, oranges and teals. The collection also has fun stripes and geometric prints.

Jen Kingwell has designed a beautiful line of fabrics for Moda called Behind the Scenes because every great production needs a supporting cast of background fabrics! Behind the Scenes features pindots, cross-hatch and geometric prints in taupe, gray, beige and brown that would make a perfect accompaniment for any collection.

What's New At Sew Inspired

We have several bolts of Cary Phillip's Seedhead collection for Clothworks, featuring fun florals, geometric prints and tone-on-tones. We've also included some solids that coordinate with the collection so you can easily build a quilt! 

Also in the shop are kits for the Out of the Bag quilt in the throw size (50" x 64"), for which you'll need the Creative Grids Scrap Crazy 8" ruler set. We also have fat quarter bundles of the entire Seedheads collection if you'd like to use your own pattern or make the quilt in a queen size!

If you're a fan of black and whites, and batiks, you can't miss out on the new bolts of black and white prints from the Blossom Batiks collection by RJR Fabrics, designed by Flaurie and Finch.

Liesl Gibson has designed a beautiful line of cotton lawn called Woodland Clearing for Kaufman based on her watercolor paintings. These beautiful prints have a gorgeous hand, and would make lovely quilts or clothing! 

We've also added to our Cotton + Steel wall -- new fabrics from the Macrame, Cat Lady and Bluebird collections are in stock!

And if you're like us and love a good text print, we have this fun print by Sweetwater for Moda, from their Volume II collection.

Last but not least, we have these adorable prints from the Winnie the Pooh collection by Camelot Fabrics in soft shades of greys, yellows and cream, perfect for baby and children's quilts.

What's New At Sew Inspired

We have just gotten in gorgeous bolts of AvantGarde, a colorful homage by painter Katarina Roccella to the Avant Garde art movement. Her new collection threads the simplicity of the basic geometrical shapes with the beauty of a simple flower and handmade stitch to find a balance that satisfies the colorful and the bold.

Not only does the AvantGarde collection boast an explosion of color, it also consists of some beautiful black and white prints.

Dinara Mirtapilova's fourth collection for Windham Fabrics, Gardening, features her signature modern aesthetic. The adorable prints feature chickens, geese, kitties and grandma tending to her glowers. A cool carrot print and whimsical flowers round out this beautiful line.

We also have fat quarter bundles of the Gardening collection all made up!

The sweet Life Aquatic collection by Dear Stella is features playful prints full of magic, from watercolor narwhals, to technicolor sea turtles and starfish in saturated hues. Dive into an underwater dreamscape full of these mystical creatures and uncharted adventures in peaceful shades of sea blue, bubblegum pink and sea foam green. 

We also have Jinny Beyer's new collection called Safari that features floral and animal prints in beautifully textured jewel tone colors.

What's New at Sew Inspired

Well, it's been a month since our last post - and with good reason! Our beloved blogger welcomed her bundle of Joy on December 1st and we couldn't be more thrilled about the newest Sew Inspired baby! However, the fabric keeps arriving, the events keep coming and until the new mom is up to blogging from home here's an attempt to update you on all that's new!

First, the Timeless Treasures Tonga batik group, Topaz, arrived yesterday amidst all the holiday hubbub. This 20-piece group of brown, rose, teal and green has us daydreaming of lounging by the water and long walks in the woods.

The Moda groups keep coming - it's been a flurry of florals with the Windermere yardage for our newest Block of the month, Garden Grove, the half-collection of Hyde Park florals and an offering of Color Daze we're planning a Cats' Cradle Catapult quilt with.

The newest Kaffe Fasset Design rolls - in Winter and Spring color-ways - have arrived along with more yardage and his newest book, Heritage Quilts. And, Anna Maria Horner's Fibs & Fables, inspired by her interest in and love for vintage fairytale illustrations. Our favorite is the "Enchanted" landscape.


Because the fabric keeps arriving... and we need to make room for the new... we'll be holding our annual don't make us inventory it year-end clearance sale right after the Christmas holiday! Don't miss it!

Hoffman Challenge 2016: Crystalia... And Me + You Batiks

Renewed, refreshed, reinvented and realigned for today. Hoffman Fabrics has chosen the best of the best for their Hoffman Challenge 2016. It'll be the first time they are offering a digitally printed fabric as the Challenge Fabrics, and in two versions -- black and white! The 2016 Challenge Fabric is style #N4240 from the Crystalia collection.

For the first time ever, Hoffman has added a Home Decor category, and this year's theme is kitchen and tabletop.

Detailed information, contest directions and an online entry form are available on their website. Registration will open at midnight CST on January 1, 2016.

In the studio on Saturday November 14, 2015, we will have special guest Stephanie Prescott, Director of Sales and Merchandising, Hoffman-California International Fabrics with us at Saturday Sampler. She will share the newest Me+You batik lines, and more! (Limited extra seating available for non-Saturday Sampler participants, so you must RSVP!)

We currently have 20 bolts of the gorgeous Me+You batiks in the shop... with more to come! Me+You is designed for the contemporary and modern quilter, and is about new energy and individuals while honoring the traditions and roots of those pioneers who came before. 

What's New At Sew Inspired

Want to make this adorable tuffet? Instructor Denise Dayton will be in our studio for four sessions starting in January to teach students how to make one! Students will be required to purchase an upholstery kit and pattern from Denise, and Sew Inspired will have a variety of legs to order prior to class. Brenda Walton's debut collection for Blend Fabrics is called Flora & Fauna, a nostalgic mix of nineteenth century florals and charming vintage imagery. It is a treasure trove of layered botanical illustrations and softly aged textures complimented by romantic calligraphy and elegant flourishes. 

We've restocked a few bolts by Alison Glass from her Ex Libris and Sun Print collections! 

We've also got Marsha McCloskey's newest collection for Clothworks called Chocolate & Cherry. The collection features elegant florals, dots and geometric patterns in beautiful reds, creams, pinks and browns. We also have her Massachusetts Cross and Crown quilt made from this collection kitted, ready for you to start sewing.
